
Here at Desert Rose Sourdough, we believe that baking is an art and food should nourish, not harm. Call me your hearth mother Lady Embergrain, the founder and sole baker, marketing director, homeschool teacher, milk maker, chicken tender, house keeper, dish washer, kitty and tiny human raiser, along any other things our beautiful little 1 1/2 acre high desert homestead needs! I started my wellness journey over 10 years ago as an eco friendly salon owner providing one of the most unique eco friendly and luxury salon environments the salon industry offered. Then, while the world seemed to stop in time our family began to grow, and I wanted to provide healthie options for our family. In 2021 while raising my babies I found my way into the world of wild yeast leavens.
The artistic nature and challenge of creating organic artisan sourdough baked goods filled a creative longing in my soul after leaving the Salon industry, while the health benefits and simple ingredients brought a sense comfort for our family knowing we were giving our children real whole food that can be benifical to the gut biome. After a year of friends and family urging me to sell my bread I did a few farm stands and sold out every time within a couple hours. So, after a year of recipe testing and a total kitchen renovation we officially launched Desert Rose to the public in October 2025.
We are a multi allergy family and my goal in being a Dye free, nut free, vegan friendly business was to not only be sure myself and my babies could eat everything I was baking, but to provide delicious traditional sourdough baked goods to families who normally are not able to partake and enjoy in the delights from artisan bakeries. I have had allergy families, gluten sensitive families, special needs families, and cancer families, find their way to me. They share their stories with me and it is an absolute honor and privilege to provide real foods nourish to all of our clients. I am humbled by this experience never have imagined when I stared out this journey as a bread dealer sling'n sourdough to the neighbors that I would be so deeply moved by our clients stories and called even deeper create more robust menu of vegan friendly, nut free, dye free desserts and sourdough recipes with cleaner healthier options to processed "foods" and sugars. I hope to provide baked goods to our community so that the most sensitive persons can still enjoy all the sweetness life has to offer.

Our menu features a variety of sweet and savory sourdough baked goods, all made from scratch with the highest quality (mostly) organic ingredients. From our long fermented artisanal sourdough breads to our sourdough desserts and sweet treats there is something for everyone! We have a passion for sourcing the highest quality ingredients for our home and our business. We are a dye free, nut free, animal free (inside) home and to provide the most whole food minimally processed, ethically sourced and sustainable ingredients possible. The flours we bake with are all non-GMO kosher, potassium bromate free, sorted from US, Canada, and Argentina and processed in the US. More info on our suppliers coming soon!

While we offer bread harvests in multiple cities across Southern California on a monthly basis, we are honored to currently be the sole sourdough bread provider for Acton California‘s favorite family farm, DeBellis Ranch. DeBellis is open most Saturdays from 9am-sunset. Each Saturday we stock the bakery rack full each Saturday with fresh baked sourdough artisan goods made with high quality and organic ingredients. Items are baked with 24 hours or less and we do sell out most weeks so we recommend there early! You can place a pre-order if purchasing $50 or more In DSR products. Vegan friendly deserts can also be pre ordered most weeks.

We love connecting with our community! Through out the year we also offer some fun and unique event offerings including sourdough tastings, sourdough workshops, and we also sponsor children's events.
